Follow up Discussion Did anyone try to ask someone new a question about themselves?
"Colour Monsters" This game is very similar to British Bulldog. Students line up on the base line of the gym and one person is "it". It is the objective to run to the other side of the gym without getting tagged. The person who is "it" calls out a colour and all of the people wearing that colour needs to run to the other side of the gym without getting tagged. If the person who is "it" calls "Colour Monster", then everyone must try to run to the other side without getting tagged. If tagged, that person is now "it" too. The goal of this game was to get the group active and playing in a manner that increases their comfort levels with each other.
Dino Egg Soccer This is a classic game of soccer with a dino egg as the ball for a fun twist. With this setup, everyone can play on the field! Students are first split into two teams with half of their members in goal and half of their members on the field. Depending on the number of people on each of the teams, the size of the "net" (two pylons) can be adjusted. When students are ready, a dino egg is thrown in and the game begins! By using a dino egg instead of a regular soccer ball, it ensures that everyone gets the chance to kick the ball. More dino eggs can even be added for optimal fun. The purpose of this game was to engage the group in a cooperative activity that gets their blood pumping and laughter flowing.
Strategy Accept people as they are - Don't try to change someone if they're different than you are. If you're lucky, the person you meet may become a regular friend or even, after a long time, a best friend. Just like we read in Nerdy Birdy, friends do not have to be exactly alike to have a great friendship. Having differences and accepting each other for who they are will help you develop a fun and unique friendships.
